My friend, Ron Ross, is an investment advisor in Eureka, California who has written an outstanding book on indexing and asset class investing: The Unbeatable Market. I took the time to reread it recently (it was published in 2002) and I highly recommend it to anyone engaged in “active management,” either on his (or her) own or through a financial planner, investment advisor, or stockbroker.
Even if you are among the enlightened who invests in index funds or structured asset class funds (like DFA’s), the book might serve as excellent reinforcement of principles and a reminder of how and why “Wall Street” is so corrupt and destructive when it comes to building meaningful wealth for the vast majority of individual investors.
